Project Information

Updated October 2011.

Early July 2010 saw the long-anticipated start to the construction of the state-of-the-art rock crushing and rail load out facility in Camak. Thanks to the continued open communication with regulators, local government, civic organizations, Camak Chamber of Commerce, residents and neighbors of the site, as well as extensive planning, the project ran on schedule and on budget.

NJ Wilbanks of Ball Ground, GA began the site work in July 2010. GW Systems of Birmingham, AL mobilized in September to begin construction of the processing plant. CJ Bridges Railroad Contractor, Inc of Mulberry, FL began construction of the rail track in January. All of the contractors performed as subcontractors to Brasfield & Gorrie of Birmingham, AL.

As of October 2011 there are twelve experienced and motivated, locally hired employees. Mark Chalker has been promoted to Pit Supervisor. Rusty Finley, Joel White and Wayne Cheely have all been promoted to lead men. Three more employees will be hired in 2011.

All site work except for establishing vegetation in a few areas was completed in July. Production of stone began in late August and early in September 2011 various products were brought into specification. CYI has already secured orders for ballast shipments into Florida and the first rail shipment too place late September.
